Patrick Elliott is Senior Curator at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh.

He is an expert in 20th-century sculpture and in recent years has curated ambitious shows on Surrealism, Pablo Picasso, Tony Cragg and modern sculpture at the SNGMA.

In 2007 he worked closely with Richard Long on the exhibition Richard Long: Walking and Marking, for which Long created several original artworks.

Ruth Burgon is a second-year PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh, writing her thesis on the use of walking in modern and contemporary art practice.

As part of the research partnership between the University and ARTIST ROOMS, she has done close research on all the works by Richard Long that are in the ARTIST ROOMS collection.
